Rozina Islam
Rozina Islam is one of the leading investigative journalists in Bangladesh currently working with Prothom Alo, Bangladesh’s largest circulated vernacular daily, as a special correspondent. She has been with the daily for 12 years and writes on governance, corruption, justice, health, environment, energy, education, politics, government policy, and women's affairs.
Rozina did her graduation from Siddeswari Girls College and her post-graduation in Social Welfare from Lalmatia Mahila College, National University. She did a number of short and diploma courses in journalism from various international reputed institutions including Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication, the University of Oklahoma, USA, and the Indian Institute of mass communication, New Delhi, India, in 2005, among others.
She started her journalism with the Daily Sangbad as a reporter in 2002. She has bagged several dozens of accolades in two decades of her career notably Canadian Awards for Excellence in Bangladeshi Journalism-2011, UNESCO Award-2011, DRU-Grameenphone best reporter award in the Sagor-Runi Memorial award for investigative journalism, 2014, journalism awards for the best investigative report by Transparency International Bangladesh-2015, Dhaka Reporters unity best health reporting award—2021.
